SENSORY-MINDS, an agency specializing in natural user interfaces, has recently developed a custom touchscreen solution not unlike the famous Minority Report interface whose aesthetic and functionality continues to be over-referenced to this day.
SENSORY-MINDS latest creation, developed for the Interzum 2011 trade show in Cologne has been dubbed the “Multitouch Experience Cube” and its dazzling to say the least.
By stitching together 23 LCD displays, the Multitouch Experience Cube creates a 14 meter long multitouch wall. Inside the cube, visitors experience an interactive product show controlled by an iPhone app that’s moderated by a host. The app acts as interconnected real-time 3D rendering visualization which includes 3D Sound that has been programmed in collaboration with “Realtime Department”. The application itself was developed in Ventuz – a real-time 3D authoring software.
Finally, a custom designed LED ceiling has been outfitted inside the cube itself. Additional 3D visualizations were created especially for the LED ceiling and react based on the visitor interactions with the multitouch LCD display.
And just like that, we’re one step closer to, “you know, like Minority Report”
